Otabek Umarov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, has been appointed to the FIA Senate, marking the first Central Asian representative in the motorsport governing body's Senate. This appointment is expected to boost motorsports and mobility development in Uzbekistan and provide a regional voice within the FIA.

Won Yun-jong, the legendary Korean bobsledder and newly elected IOC Athlete Representative, was introduced on stage at the closing ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics. Simultaneously, Won Yun-jong, a Korean bobsleigh legend, was elected as an IOC Athlete Representative. The 145th IOC Session in Milan saw the election of Yunjong Won (Korea, bobsleigh) and Johanna Talihärm (Estonia, biathlon) from the IOC Athletes’ Commission to IOC membership, and Pau Gasol Sáez elected to the Executive Board. Syed Shahid Ali and Dr Robin E. Mitchell were confirmed as Honorary Members. The IOC membership will total 106, with 46 women and 60 men, including 42 Olympians.
