Beidaihe, China, will host the World Skate Speed Skating World Championships from September 13-21, 2025, featuring over 40 nations competing in sprint and long-distance events at the Beidaihe International Roller Skating Center. The event aims to expand speed skating in Asia and highlight Beidaihe as an international venue, aligning with the International Olympic Committee -IOC-'s values. World Skate has announced a six-year agreement with Sakai, Japan, to host major events, including the Urban World Cups and Skateboarding Tour Park. Sakai aims to become an urban sports hub, developing training facilities and judging academies. The collaboration seeks to boost sustainable tourism and revitalize the area by hosting international events in disciplines such as skateboarding, roller freestyle, and scooter racing. World Skate President Sabatino Aracu emphasized Japan's investment in sports that attract young people, following the success of Japanese athletes like Momiji Nishiya.
