Paraguay inaugurated a modern Olympic Aquatic Centre in Luque, featuring Olympic-sized and diving pools built to World Aquatics standards, ahead of the Junior Pan American Games in August 2025. The centre, costing $15 million, has a 2,500-spectator capacity and will host Junior Pan American Games events. The Junior Pan American Games will have 4,000 athletes from 41 countries competing in 42 sports, awarding 216 qualifying spots for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima. Paraguay is also set to host several other international sporting events, including the World Rally Championship (2025-2027), the World Skate Games (2026), the Youth World Weightlifting Championships (2027), and the Junior Track Cycling World Championships (2028).

Paraguay has enacted Law No. 7467/2025, offering tax exemptions, visa facilitation, and international arbitration for sports events, positioning itself as a regional sports hub. The law will be tested at the 75th FIFA Congress in Asunción on May 15, 2025. Law 3449/2025 establishes a permanent inter-institutional committee for event coordination. Paraguay will host a match in the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games, stages of the FIA World Rally Championship through 2027, the 2026 World Skate Games, and the 2027 ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships. Paraguay is also bidding for the 2030 Youth Olympic Games and the 2031 Pan American Games.

The Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and the Real Federación Española de Patinaje (RFEP) hosted the 10th Skating Gala in Madrid, honouring athletes, referees, judges, clubs, and federation members for their achievements in 2024. Pau Bargalló and Natalia Baldizzone were named Athletes of the Year. The COE also awarded 20 Olympic distinctions, including 19 Olympic laurels to athletes who have been world champions three or more times.
