The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) reported a 23% reduction in its carbon footprint in 2024 compared to 2023, according to its report to the United Nations Sport for Climate Action initiative. The reduction resulted from revised travel policies, efficient material transport, and improved energy management. The IFSC is also developing an environmental calculation tool with EP to assess and reduce event-related emissions, to be implemented across the IFSC World Cup Series. Other IFs like World Athletics, World Rugby, FIS and UEFA are taking similar steps towards sustainability.

Janja Garnbret won the Lead World Cup in Koper, marking her 49th gold medal. Beyond her athletic achievements, Garnbret is a strong advocate for athlete mental health, pushing for measures against eating disorders within the International Federation of Sport Climbing -IFSC-. She emphasizes self-care and addresses mental health and body image issues, influenced by other athletes' experiences, since 2024.

Victor Guillermin of France won gold in the men's U21 Lead category at the IFSC Youth European Championships in Žilina, Slovakia. His victory follows his second ascent of Avaatara (9a) in Lebanon's Baatara Gorge. France topped the medal table with 10 medals. Other gold medalists included Aodhan Umlauf (Germany) in Speed, Aina Vila Cantero (Spain) in women’s U17 Lead, Connie Bridgens (Great Britain) in U19 Lead, and Arina Jurcenko (Czechia) in U21 Lead. Three more Youth European Cups are scheduled in Imst (Austria), Laval (France) and Toulouse Tournefeuille (France).

The 2025 IFSC Asian Youth Championships in Guiyang saw a significant increase in participation with over 211 athletes from 14 countries, compared to the 2023 event. Japan topped the medal table, followed by China and South Korea. An exchange training camp was also held for 120 young climbers from China, Japan and Indonesia. The IFSC emphasizes that the growth of climbing in Asia is boosted by its inclusion in the Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024, and Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
