World Aquatics began construction of its new global headquarters in Budapest on October 7, 2025, consolidating administrative offices, an elite training centre, and athlete accommodation into a 20,000-square-metre complex. Ju-Jitsu is expanding in European university sports through collaboration between the Ju-Jitsu European Union (JJEU), the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF), and the European University Sports Association (EUSA). Leaders from JJEU (Robert Perc) and JJIF (Joachim Thumfart) met with EUSA leaders, including President Adam Roczek, to discuss expanding Ju-Jitsu's role in European universities and creating opportunities for student-athletes. Ju-Jitsu will be included in the 2026 FISU World University Combat Sports Championship in Brasília, Brazil.

The ITA has banned Polish canoeist Remigiusz Nowaczyk for three months after he tested positive for cocaine at the FISU World University Canoe Sprint Championship in September 2022. All his results from the event have been disqualified. Moroccan breakdancer Fouad Ambelj, also known as B-boy Lil Zoo, received a four-year ban for refusing to submit to an out-of-competition sample collection in June 2024. All his results since that date have been annulled.

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) celebrated World Bicycle Day by promoting its Erasmus+ project, 3Cs, launched in 2023. This initiative involves a consortium of European universities, including Universidad Camilo José Cela, Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier, Università degli Studi di Torino, and MUV B Corp, coordinated by the University of Coimbra. The project encourages sustainable transportation, such as cycling, walking, and public transport, between university campuses and urban areas. It includes virtual lessons on cycling, lifestyle and environmental impact studies, and a gamified challenge to accumulate kilometers traveled sustainably. A 2000 km sustainable route connecting the four campuses has been developed. FISU supports cycling and holds world championships dedicated to the sport.

American diver Jaclynn Reese Fowler has been suspended for four years by World Aquatics after testing positive for amphetamine at the 2023 Chengdu FISU World University Games. The ITA, acting on behalf of World Aquatics, announced the ban, which began on May 30, 2025, and lasts until May 29, 2029. Fowler's results from August 1, 2023, onwards have been annulled. Fowler did not contest the charge.
