The International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) held its 2025 Annual General Assembly in Abu Dhabi, approving key policies and constitutional amendments, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability. The assembly highlighted the adoption of IFMA Agenda 2030, a long-term roadmap focused on education, inclusivity, youth empowerment, gender equality, and sustainable development. A global educational program for 2026 was approved, focusing on mental health, gender equality, and fair officiating. IFMA represents over 150 member countries.

The International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) Secretary General Stephan Fox attended the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games. Fox engaged in discussions with FISU President Leonz Eder, focusing on the collaboration between IFMA and FISU and the upcoming FISU World University Cup for Combat Sports in Brasilia, Brazil, in June 2026. IFMA aims to expand Muaythai's influence within university sport globally.

Following the death of Palestinian youth peace ambassador Ammar Hamayel, the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) has banned Israeli national symbols (flag, anthem) from its events. Israeli athletes may compete as Neutral Individual Athletes (AIN), similar to Russian and Belarusian athletes. IFMA will also not host events in Israel until further notice. The measures are a protest against actions endangering children.

During the 2025 IFMA Senior World Championships in Turkey, IOC President Thomas Bach received the Golden Mongkon, IFMA's highest honour, for his support of Muaythai since IFMA's IOC recognition in 2013. IFMA, which represents over 130 national federations, aims for Muaythai to become an Olympic sport and presented Bach with the Jubilee Medal in 2023 for IFMA’s 30th anniversary. Bach's term will soon end, with Kirsty Coventry succeeding him.

The International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) awarded IOC President Thomas Bach the Golden Mongkon, its highest honor, during the 2025 IFMA Senior World Championships in Türkiye. The award recognizes Bach's contributions to sports and his support for Muaythai, which achieved full IOC recognition in 2021 after provisional recognition in 2016. Bach's advocacy included attending the 2016 Asian Beach Games in Danang, Vietnam. This honor follows the IFMA Jubilee Medal presented to Bach in 2023, celebrating the 30th anniversary of IFMA and the partnership with the Olympic movement.
