Bahrain will host the 2026 BWF Para Badminton World Championships from February 7-14. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has approved the return of Russian badminton players Rodion Alimov and Maksim Ogloblin to international competition as Individual Neutral Athletes, effective August 11, 2025. This decision follows a thorough verification process by the Player Eligibility Panel, established after the BWF Council's resolution on August 29, 2023, which allows for the reintegration of Russian and Belarusian athletes under strict conditions of neutrality. Alimov and Ogloblin must register by July 15, 2025, and will be subject to anti-doping regulations.

The Hope and Dreams Festival, organized by World Taekwondo and the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation in partnership with the Jordan Olympic Committee and other International Federations, concluded in Amman and the Azraq and Za’atari Refugee Camps on May 4, 2025. The festival featured taekwondo, badminton, baseball5, basketball 3x3, handball, and weightlifting. Around 300 athletes participated in taekwondo competitions. Badminton saw a significant increase to 80 young athletes. WT President Chungwon Choue met with JOC President HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, FISU President Leonz Eder, and WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari before the festival. The next edition will coincide with the THF's 10th anniversary.
