The International Equestrian Federation (150) has expanded its policy on neutral athlete participation, allowing two additional Russian riders to compete internationally. Following its General Assembly in November 2023, the (150) developed stringent eligibility criteria. From January 1, 2026, Russian and Belarusian athletes will be eligible for team events under a neutral flag, and FEI-sanctioned competitions may resume in Belarus. However, events in Russia remain prohibited, and development programs in both countries are suspended.

WFDF President Robert Rauch warned about excessive financial dependence on Olympic revenues during the International Federations Forum. British dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin is eligible to compete again after serving a year-long ban for excessively whipping a horse. The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) provisionally suspended Dujardin last year after video footage emerged of her striking a horse more than 20 times. She was fined 10,000 Swiss Francs and banned from competition. Dujardin admitted to an “error of judgment.” Separately, Australia's Heath Ryan was also suspended for similar horse-whipping allegations. The FEI has launched the 'Be a Guardian' initiative to address equine welfare concerns.
