The International Equestrian Federation (150) has expanded its policy on neutral athlete participation, allowing two additional Russian riders to compete internationally. Following its General Assembly in November 2023, the (150) developed stringent eligibility criteria. From January 1, 2026, Russian and Belarusian athletes will be eligible for team events under a neutral flag, and FEI-sanctioned competitions may resume in Belarus. However, events in Russia remain prohibited, and development programs in both countries are suspended.

WFDF President Robert Rauch warned about excessive financial dependence on Olympic revenues during the International Federations Forum. He highlighted that many federations rely heavily on Olympic funding. WFDF was also recognized for strong institutional governance, ranking second in the ARISF governance review with a score of 84 out of 100. Rauch also discussed the need to attract younger demographics to the Olympics and the WFDF's ongoing dialogue for inclusion in the Brisbane 2032 Games.

The Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) concluded its Women Leadership Workshop 2025 in Lausanne, aimed at strengthening women's leadership in international sport. Over 40 women from summer and winter Olympic International Federations participated, focusing on governance skills and networking. The initiative, supported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and part of ASOIF's gender equality strategy, includes ongoing support through peer groups. Sabrina Ibáñez emphasized its role in driving structural change in sports.

The SportAccord IF Forum 2025, to be held in Lausanne from October 27-29, will gather over 400 International Federation leaders to discuss governance, sustainability, and innovation under the theme 'The New Global Reality in Sport.' Key sessions include discussions on commercialization, women’s sport, audience engagement, and keynote speeches from experts like Professor Simon Chadwick. Speakers include Petra Sörling (International Table Tennis Federation), Max Cobb (International Biathlon Union), François Vergnol (International Equestrian Federation), Fabio Azevedo (International Volleyball Federation) and Jiao Li (International Skating Union). The forum aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in preparation for the SportAccord Convention 2026 in Baku.

British dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin is eligible to compete again after serving a year-long ban for excessively whipping a horse. The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) provisionally suspended Dujardin last year after video footage emerged of her striking a horse more than 20 times. She was fined 10,000 Swiss Francs and banned from competition. Dujardin admitted to an “error of judgment.” Separately, Australia's Heath Ryan was also suspended for similar horse-whipping allegations. The FEI has launched the 'Be a Guardian' initiative to address equine welfare concerns.
