The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has approved the participation of Russian and Belarusian junior and cadet athletes in its competitions, allowing them to represent their countries with flags, anthems, and national symbols starting in 2026. This decision, supported by the IOC, follows a vote by the FIE's executive committee and comes into effect immediately, with the first application at the junior foil World Cup in Fujairah. While youth athletes regain their national identity, senior fencers will continue to compete under existing neutral conditions.
