Iraq hosted its first National Club Hockey Championship in Baghdad, supported by the Iraqi National Olympic Committee and the International Hockey Federation. Six clubs participated in the tournament, which was organized by the Iraqi Hockey Federation following Iraq's acceptance into the International Hockey Federation in November 2024. International Hockey Federation President Tayyab Ikram expressed his support for the development of hockey in Iraq, reaffirming the International Hockey Federation's commitment to providing technical and administrative assistance.

The US men’s and women’s hockey teams are preparing for the LA28 Olympics, with both teams finishing fourth in the FIH Hockey Nations Cup and FIH Hockey Nations Cup 2, respectively. The women's team, coached by David Passmore, aims to blend experienced players with rising stars like Maddie Zimmer. The men’s team, led by Allan Law, focuses on building a sustainable program to consistently compete in the top 15 globally. Both teams emphasize building mental and physical readiness for the home Olympics.

The British Olympic Association (BOA) has appointed Sarah Massey as its new Director of Sport, effective January 2026. Massey, currently Managing Director of the Rugby World Cup 2025, will oversee Sport and Athlete Services, and high-performance strategies for Team GB, including preparations for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics. She will work with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to support athletes. Previously, Massey held leadership roles with World Athletics, the International Hockey Federation, and the International Tennis Federation.
