India celebrated 100 years of hockey at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, attended by dignitaries, legends, and FIH President Tayyab Ikram. The event, organized by the Sports Authority of India and Hockey India, included a commemorative book launch, exhibition, and presentation of the FIH Men’s Junior World Cup 2025 trophy, to be hosted in Tamil Nadu. The celebration extended nationwide with the National Hockey Festival, involving over 36,000 players in exhibition matches across 500 districts. India's men's team holds the record for the most Olympic golds in hockey history, with eight gold medals.

SportAccord appointed Kelly Fairweather as Managing Director, with a focus on the SportAccord Convention in Baku in 2026, scheduled for May 24-28, 2026. Fairweather brings experience from the IOC, FIH and ITF. Uğur Erdener, President of SportAccord, welcomed Fairweather, emphasizing his understanding of the global sports landscape. Baku 2026 is expected to gather over 120 International Federations and approximately 1,700 delegates.
