Qatar will host the 2029 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, marking the first time the tournament will be held in the Middle East in its 70-year history. The decision, approved at the FIVB Board of Administration meeting in Manila, recognizes Qatar’s infrastructure, sporting facilities, and commitment to sport. The tournament will feature 32 national teams. Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani highlighted the event as another step towards Qatar potentially hosting the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Brazil saw a 24% increase in coverage hours and 12.4 million new viewers since 2022. Poland experienced a 42% increase in coverage, with the men's final drawing 3.8 million viewers. Türkiye had a 63% increase in coverage hours. The VNL's revamped format has increased its global reach and commercial potential, solidifying volleyball's position as a leading live sport.
