Olegario Vázquez Raña, IOC honorary member and a four-time Olympian in shooting representing Mexico, has passed away at the age of 89. An IOC member from 1995-2015, he contributed to Olympic Solidarity, Marketing, IOC 2000 reform, and the Olympic Channel. He led the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) from 1980 and was president of the Mexican Red Cross from 2001 to 2006. Thomas Bach expressed condolences, acknowledging Vázquez Raña's dedication to sport and the Olympic values.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the death of IOC Honorary Member Olegario Vázquez Raña at the age of 89. Vázquez Raña, a four-time Olympian in shooting representing Mexico, served as an IOC Member from 1995 to 2015 and contributed to several IOC commissions. He was also the President of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) from 1980. IOC President Thomas Bach expressed condolences, highlighting Vázquez Raña's dedication to sport and the Olympic values. The Olympic flag will be flown at half-mast for three days at Olympic House.
