Lee Duck-hee will compete in the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, marking the first time a Korean tennis player has participated in the Deaflympics. The Sejong City Hall tennis team is protesting the city's decision to disband the team, citing disagreements over financial issues, performance, and the vacant coach position. The team argues that the decision was made without proper consultation and that the reasons provided by the city are inaccurate, highlighting recent international achievements and administrative shortcomings. Sejong City defends its decision, pointing to financial constraints and issues related to the former coach, including a sports ethics investigation and imprisonment for corruption. The Korea Tennis Association has voiced concerns over the negative impact on local student athletes' development, disputing the city's justification for the disbandment.

Yasuhiro Yamashita, president of the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) and 1984 Los Angeles Olympics judo gold medalist, will receive the Olympic Order for his contributions to Olympism as an athlete and sports leader. He stepped back from duties due to a cervical spine injury sustained in October 2023 and is expected to step down from all roles, including his IOC membership, assumed in January 2020. Yamashita's judo achievements include four world titles, nine All-Japan Championships, and 203 consecutive victories. He founded the NGO Solidarity of International Judo Education (SJI) and has been Director of Education for the International Judo Federation since 2003.

The British Olympic Association (BOA) has appointed Sarah Massey as its new Director of Sport, effective January 2026. Massey, currently Managing Director of the Rugby World Cup 2025, will oversee Sport and Athlete Services, and high-performance strategies for Team GB, including preparations for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics. She will work with National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to support athletes. Previously, Massey held leadership roles with World Athletics, the International Hockey Federation, and the International Tennis Federation.
