During the 144th IOC Session, Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant was elected as the new IOC Vice-President, succeeding Nicole Hoevertsz. Spyros Capralos and Octavian Morariu were elected as new members of the IOC Executive Board, replacing Robin E. Mitchell and Denis Oswald. Emma Terho and Kristin Kloster were re-elected for a second term. Tony Estanguet was elected as an IOC Member. Ten IOC Members were re-elected for new terms, and a four-year extension was approved for Spyros Capralos. Marisol Casado and Zaiqing Yu were elected as Honorary Members, and Ban Ki-moon and Francesco Ricci Bitti were elected as Honour Members. Laura Chinchilla and Hanqin Xue were re-elected to the IOC Ethics Commission.
