The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has voiced concerns regarding the well-being of Iranian athletes amidst ongoing political and social instability in Iran. The IOC is in contact with Iran's Olympic community and acknowledges the increasing frequency of such situations globally. United World Wrestling (UWW) has also reported concerns about the safety of Iranian wrestlers. Both organizations emphasize their commitment to athlete protection and sports diplomacy while recognizing the limitations of their ability to directly influence national affairs.

IOC President Kirsty Coventry engaged with key stakeholders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to discuss support for Ukraine and its athletes, and created four working groups focused on the Youth Olympic Games, Olympic programme, protecting the female category, and commercial partnerships and marketing as part of the "Fit For The Future" process. She also welcomed delegations from the NOC of Botswana and the Ugandan NOC, discussing preparations for Dakar 2026 and mental health initiatives, respectively. Meetings were held with the International Fencing Federation (FIE) and Alibaba to discuss preparations for upcoming Games and digital strategy. Allyson Felix's film was screened at the Olympic Museum, and a wreath was laid at Pierre de Coubertin's tomb. Other Olympic news included collaborative action grants for refugee support, a medal design call for Dakar 2026, and a Lacoste Olympic Heritage apparel range.

IOC President Thomas Bach and President-elect Kirsty Coventry visited Rome, meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss preparations for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. They also attended the World Skateboarding Tour competition and addressed the International Athletes’ Forum (IAF) in Lausanne. Bach and Coventry also met with the new British Olympic Association (BOA) Chair Katherine Grainger, World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) President Witold Bańka and Director General Olivier Niggli, and Pope Leo XIV. Nenad Lalović and Jean-Christophe Rolland were elected to the ASOIF Council.
