Chapol secured 29 votes against Thomas Han's 9. The 24th Asian Archery Championship, which runs until November 14 in Dhaka, will be his first major challenge as president.

Greg Easton was elected as the new President of World Archery at a summit in Gwangju, South Korea, succeeding Ugur Erdener after 20 years. Easton secured 208 votes, defeating Secretary General Tom Dielen. Easton's election also saw the formal establishment of the gender equity and inclusion committee, significantly increased female representation to 42%. Competition rules were amended, including expansion of categories in para archery and introduction of mixed team rounds under the set system. Easton's term will focus on the Los Angeles 2028 cycle.

The 49th ASOIF General Assembly was held in Lausanne on June 11, 2025, chaired by President Ingemar de Vos. Four ASOIF Council positions were elected: Nenad Lalovic (United World Wrestling) was re-elected, Jean-Christophe Rolland (World Rowing) and Andreas Zagklis (International Basketball Federation) were newly elected, and Ximena Restrepo (World Athletics) was elected for a two-year term. Los Angeles 2028, Brisbane 2032, and Dakar 2026 OCOGs provided updates. ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg attended, emphasizing cooperation between IFs and ANOC.

Seven candidates are competing for four available seats on the ASOIF Council, with elections scheduled for June 11, 2025, at the ASOIF General Assembly in Lausanne. Uğur Erdener (World Archery), Sebastian Coe (World Athletics), and Nenad Lalovic (United World Wrestling) are completing their terms. Ingmar De Vos began his role as president on January 1, 2025, and will fill one seat for the remainder of the 2025-2027 term. Candidates include Mohammed Jalood (International Weightlifting Federation), Thomas Konietzko (International Canoe Federation), Nenad Lalovic (United World Wrestling), Ximena Restrepo (World Athletics), Jean-Christophe Rolland (World Rowing), Marco Maria Scolaris (International Federation of Sport Climbing), and Andreas Zagklis (International Basketball Federation). The elected council members will play a role in shaping the format of the Games, including LA28.

World Archery President Uğur Erdener received the Olympic Order from IOC President Thomas Bach at the 144th IOC Session in Olympia, recognizing his contributions to the Olympic Movement. Bach praised Erdener as a scholar, bridge-builder, and gentleman, highlighting his leadership in bridging science and sport, diplomacy and governance, tradition and innovation. Erdener, President of World Archery since 2005, an IOC member since 2008, and President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee (2011-2025), was honored for his transformative impact, demonstrated by archery's success at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. His final term as World Archery President concludes later this year.
