Over 200 refugee children and young athletes participated in the 2026 Hope and Dreams Sports Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, marking the 10th anniversary of the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation. The event, held in partnership with World Taekwondo, featured taekwondo competitions alongside cultural and social activities, fostering confidence, friendship, and resilience. Supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Rwanda’s Ministry in Charge of Refugees, the festival aims to promote athletic development, life skills, and social inclusion, with plans for an even larger event in 2027 and another in Amman, Jordan in April 2026.
