Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) President Dr. Norza Zakaria welcomed World Taekwondo President Dr. Choue Chung Won at the 2025 Asian Junior, Cadet and Para Championships in Kuching, Sarawak. Dr. Norza attended the opening ceremony on July 26, 2025, which was represented by Hon. Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu. Dr. Norza congratulated Mr. Kim Sang Jin on his election as the new President of the Asian Taekwondo Union and commended Hon. Azizul Annuar Adenan for bringing the Asian Taekwondo Championships back to Malaysia.

Combat sports are experiencing a surge in popularity in Australia, driven by the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympics. Disciplines like MMA, boxing, Muay Thai, taekwondo, judo, and ju-jitsu are gaining traction, with national federations investing in infrastructure and talent. Boxing, taekwondo, and judo are already Olympic sports, while Muay Thai's IF recognition raises its Olympic prospects. MMA and ju-jitsu are growing with national bodies laying foundations for potential Olympic inclusion.

The Palestine national taekwondo team has completed intensive training in Amman, Jordan, including participation in the Al-Faris training camp (July 5-11) with nine other nations and the Olympic Solidarity Taekwondo Camp (July 13-21), supported by World Taekwondo and the International Olympic Committee. The team's preparation included 22 athletes and two coaches, along with participants from Jordan, Iraq, and refugee athletes from the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation. They also competed in the 26th Al-Assaf Tournament, winning nine gold, 12 silver, and four bronze medals. Bashar Saleh, president of the Palestine Taekwondo Federation, expressed gratitude to World Taekwondo, Olympic Solidarity, and the Jordan Taekwondo Federation for their support.

Uzbekistan's two-time Olympic taekwondo champion, Ulugbek Rashitov, has been banned until May 12, 2027, for whereabouts failures, marking a significant anti-doping rule violation (ADRV). This follows a similar violation by fellow Uzbek athlete Feruza Sadikova, banned until May 2, 2028, and an ongoing case involving Gulsanam Alijonova. Rashitov's results from February 3 until his ban have been disqualified. These cases highlight a concerning trend of ADRVs within Uzbekistan's taekwondo program. For comparison, Great Britain's Jade Jones faced a whereabouts-related issue in 2024 but was not disqualified.

British Taekwondo has achieved full recognition from all UK Home Nation Sports Councils and UK Sport, marking a governance milestone. This unified recognition is expected to improve access to funding and support. British Taekwondo, in collaboration with GB Taekwondo, UK Sport, and Manchester City football club, will host the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in 2027, featuring both Olympic and Paralympic disciplines. CEO Ian Leafe visited Kukkiwon to discuss collaboration. New coaching standards require Level 2 certification and registered Club Welfare Officers. A new membership platform, 'My Club Hub,' has been launched with Sport 80. British Taekwondo also plans to launch a beginner-friendly competition circuit, finalize a Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), and introduce new School and Tots Programmes in early summer 2025, along with a new podcast.
