The 107th Winter National Sports Festival (Winter Nationals) concluded today after four days of competition. A total of 4,380 athletes and officials from 17 provinces participated in eight sports: skating, ice hockey, skiing, biathlon, curling, bobsleigh/skeleton, mountaineering, and luge. Gyeonggi Province secured the overall victory with 322 medals and 1,611 points, followed by Seoul and Gangwon. Kim So-hee (Seoul City Hall), a four-time alpine skiing champion, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Several athletes who will compete in the 2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics showcased their skills, including Kim Gil-li and Choi Min-jeong in short track, and Kim Min-seon and Jeong Jae-won in speed skating. Young talents also emerged, with Kim Joon-ha and Lim Ri-won in speed skating, and Choi Ye-rin and Heo Do-hyun in alpine skiing, among others, earning four gold medals each. A total of 81 multi-medalists were recognized.
