The Federation of International Mixed Martial Arts (FIMMA) has been officially founded in Athens, Greece, uniting nearly 50 countries and regions in a concerted effort to secure MMA's place in the Olympic Games. Co-founded by Gordon Tang and Isidoros Kouvelos, FIMMA aims to establish a transparent, athlete-centered governing body, partnering with the International Olympic Academy to develop coaching and referee standards. The organization is actively pursuing inclusion in continental games and has garnered support from various Olympic movement leaders, signaling a significant step towards MMA's Olympic recognition.

The International Olympic Committee [IOC] announced the death of honorary member Lambis V. Nikolaou at 89. Nikolaou, who joined the IOC in 1986 and became an honorary member in 2016, served twice as President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee from 1985 to 1992 and 1997 to 2004. He was also the IOC Vice-President from 2005 to 2009 and played a pivotal role in Athens' successful bid for the 2004 Olympic Games.

The IOC expresses its condolences on the passing of Honorary Member Lambis V. Nikolaou, aged 89. Nikolaou served as an IOC Member from 1986-2016, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) for two terms, and Vice-President of the Organising Committee for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. IOC President Kirsty Coventry acknowledged Nikolaou's contributions to the Olympic Movement. He also contributed to the construction of the International Olympic Academy (IOA) Conference Centre and the new HOC headquarters.

Park Joo-hee, Chairperson of the International Sport Strategy Committee (ISF) and Korean Sport & Olympic Committee Asian Sports Ambassador, has been elected as an Executive Board member of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the first Korean woman to hold this position. The election took place at the 45th OCA General Assembly in Kuwait City, where she was unanimously approved by the 45 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and will also serve as the Chairperson of the OCA Athletes Relations Committee.

A delegation led by Timothy Fok, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong (SF&OC), visited Beijing in early April 2025 to strengthen sports ties and promote Hong Kong as a host for major events. Discussions with Xia Baolong, Zhou Ji, and Gao Zhidan of the Chinese Olympic Committee focused on Hong Kong's sports advancements, including hosting the 2026 Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) General Assembly and the new Kai Tak Sports Park. Fok emphasized Hong Kong's role in national development, international event hosting, and collaboration for the 15th National Games. Kenneth Fok highlighted professional training and strategic alliances, including collaboration with the International Olympic Academy and the National Olympic Academy of China.
