The International Federation of Mixed Martial Arts (FIMMA) was founded in Athens with the goal of achieving IOC recognition and potentially Olympic inclusion. The organization, supported by representatives from nearly 50 countries, aims to establish unified global governance, prioritizing athlete safety and international cooperation. FIMMA will collaborate with continental bodies and the International Olympic Academy (398) to develop competition pathways and enhance technical standards. The federation will focus on onboarding new members and developing its roadmap towards IOC recognition.

WADA representatives attended the fifth African Continental Athletes' forum in Windhoek, Namibia, organized by ANOCA to discuss doping, athlete representation, and fair play. Key discussions included the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code revision and the role of Athlete Ombuds. WADA delegates, including Gaby Ahrens, Adriana Escobar, Karine Henrie, Humphrey Kayange, Emma Terho, Anna Thorstenson, and Rodney Swigelaar, engaged with athletes and sports leaders.
