The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee held a joint Olympic and Paralympic Chefs de Mission Seminar. ANOC will broadcast the Games of the Small States of Europe on ANOC.tv. ANOCA is holding a Continental Athletes’ Forum. WADA approved the creation of a Working Group on Contaminations and is expanding its intelligence-gathering capability.

The 144th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Costa Navarino, Greece, saw Kirsty Coventry elected as the 10th IOC President, succeeding Thomas Bach, and becoming the first female President in the IOC's history. The session also approved boxing for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic program, reviewed successful Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, and received updates from organizing committees for Milano Cortina 2026, French Alps 2030, Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032. Additionally, the session elected Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant as a Vice-President and Spyros Capralos and Octavian Morariu as members of its EB. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic will host the 2027 IOC Session.

At the 144th IOC Session in Greece, Thomas Bach was unanimously elected Honorary President for Life of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The proposal, made by Nicole Hoevertsz on behalf of the IOC Executive Board, was met with a standing ovation. Bach's term as IOC President will conclude after June 23, 2025, following 12 years in office since his election in 2013. The session highlighted Bach's successful implementation of Olympic Agenda reforms and his leadership in modernizing the Olympic Movement. IOC members praised Bach's commitment to athletes, gender equality, sustainability, and navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
