Angola will host the 4th African Youth Games from December 10-20, 2025, across six cities, marking the first time a Portuguese-speaking country has hosted the event. The games will feature 33 sports and serve as a qualifier for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics. The event coincides with Angola's 50th independence anniversary and is supported by a formal agreement between Angola and ANOCA. A Chefs de Mission Seminar is scheduled for September 11–15, 2025, to finalize operational plans with senior representatives from all 54 participating countries.

Algeria will host the inaugural African School Games from July 26 to August 5, 2025, with 3,018 young athletes and coaches from 51 countries competing in 25 sports.
