Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar has been elected as the new President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), succeeding Randhir Singh who stepped down due to health reasons. The election took place at the 46th OCA General Assembly in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with representatives from 45 Asian National Olympic Committees (NOCs) present. Sheikh Joaan outlined his vision, 'Together for Asia,' emphasizing solidarity, athletic excellence, good governance, innovation, sustainability, inclusivity, and promoting Asia's interests within the Olympic Movement.

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) faces potential legal action as its current term ends on December 28, 2025, without scheduled elections. Affiliated associations threaten complaints to the minister of sports and the International Olympic Committee (458) if an Election Committee isn't appointed soon. The situation stems from unresolved governance issues, including a funding suspension by the (458) and the Olympic Council of Asia (424) in December 2024, due to misconduct allegations. Former NOCSL secretary Maxwell de Silva received a five-year suspension. The current administration, which includes an ineligible president, has requested a term extension from the (458) due to legal issues.

The Olympic Council of Asia included padel as an official sport at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. This decision was announced following a meeting between the OCA and the International Padel Federation.
