Al-Thani's term will last until 2028. With Qatar pursuing the bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics, Al-Thani's new role is expected to expand his influence in the international sports community. Saudi Arabia has indefinitely postponed the 2029 Asian Winter Games, initially planned for the NEOM project. Citing an 'updated framework for future hosts' and a focus on developing winter sports through smaller standalone events, the postponement impacts the ambitious NEOM project and its Trojena venue. The decision prioritizes building a technical and human base before hosting a continental Games, reshaping Saudi Arabia's sporting calendar alongside Riyadh Expo 2030-2031 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg updated the 46th Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly in Tashkent on ANOC's activities. ANOC President Robin Mitchell also sent a video message. The Hong Kong, China NOC presented plans for the upcoming ANOC General Assembly.
