Qasim Hasan Abdulhussein Al-Lami, an Iraqi weightlifter, has been banned for seven years by the International Testing Agency (ITA) for his second Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV). The violation occurred on October 30, 2024, when a sample revealed the presence of stanozolol metabolites. Stanozolol is a prohibited anabolic steroid. This is Al-Lami's second doping offense; he previously received a four-year ban from 2017 to 2021 for furosemide and testosterone. The ITA proposed a sanction up to eight years, but Al-Lami accepted the consequences, leading to a reduced seven-year ban from December 9, 2024, to December 8, 2031, due to an early admission. All results from October 30, 2024, to December 9, 2024, have been disqualified.
