Police conducted a search and seizure of the office and residence of the former secretary-general of the Korea Table Tennis Association, Jeong Hae-cheon, a close associate of Seung Min RYU, the president of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, regarding allegations of receiving sponsorship incentives under a borrowed name. Civic groups had previously reported Chairman RYU for illegal payment of sponsorship incentives during his tenure as president of the Korea Table Tennis Association. Police suspect that Seung Min RYU may have received incentives in the name of a representative of his agency's brother, who received approximately 200 million won in sponsorship incentives.

Jeonju, South Korea, hosted the 'Olympic Day Run 2025' on 2025-11-16 to promote its bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics.
